Alfalfa comes originally from Armenia. The word in Arabic means “father of all foods”. Seeds are very small. It is wrongly considered a grain, but, in fact, belongs to the pulses family. It is the most nutritious sprouts of all: very rich in protein, vitamins A, C, E, B complex, mineral elements like calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, iron and trace elements like selenium and zinc. Amongst vitamins also the least known vitamin K which enhances blood clotting and prevents mascarriages and haemorragaes. Thanks to its high content of manganese, it is an excellent treatment against arthtritis, rheumatism and diabetes.
