Late, very productive variety of melon. It originates from Spain where it is a very common variety. They call it Piel de Sapo (translated as "frog skin"). Its fruits are large, with an oval shape and a dark green slightly ribbed peel. The inside is very sweet and juicy (it tastes like the Honeydew variety) with a greenish-white pulp. Harvested in mid-October and stored at room temperature, it keeps extremely well, easily until January, which is categorized as a "winter melon". Picked before they are fully ripe and are kept hanging they store even longer.
