Kelp (Kombu) are large seaweeds which grow in nutrient-rich underwater in shallow oceans. It is rich in minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and iron etc. Kelp is also famous for its rich content of iodine, which is an important element keeping our thyroid working properly. The thyroid gland can control our energy production, and improve the metabolic rate. A good metabolic rate can consume excessive fat in our bodies. Therefore it is usually recommended to people who have slow metabolic rate. On the the hand, kelp is also an important ingrediant for the beauty products such as shampoos, facial masks, soaps, lotions etc.

Use:
It is recommended to consume our kelp powder as dietary supplements, for example 1-3 times a day, each time 1/4 level teaspoon.

Culinary suggestions: 
Drinks: Blend 1/4 tsp. of powdered kelp into water, freshly squeezed juice or any smoothie. You can get an especially alkalinizing drink if you mix it with barley grass.
Cooking: Add ½ tsp. of kelp powder per cup of uncooked beans or other legumes. Add more if you like the flavor. This will turn the broth green and a bit gel-like. For canned beans, add ¼ tsp. when heating. Another option is to sprinkle it on already-cooked grain.
Condiment: Grind with toasted sesame seeds to make a condiment – for toasts, cooked grains, meals, popcorn, etc.
Salads: Sprinkle on top of green salad or to any salad. Goes well with parsley, celery, belgian endive or garlic. Particularly good with lots of celery.
Cheese: Mix in with your favorite soft cheese – it can be soy, dairy, or nut cheese.
Dips: Mix into hummus, parsley pesto, tomato pesto, avocado dip.
Salad dressings: Add to any oil-and-vinegar (or oil-and-lemon juice) based dressing, homemade or premade. It will somewhat emulsify the dressing and make it a bit green. Suggested ¼ tsp. per serving.
Make your own dressing suggestion:
One serving:

¼ tsp. kelp powder
1 tbsp. rice vinegar
2 tbsp. toasted sesame oil
Optional: ½ tsp. chopped dried mushrooms
