Naturally sweet pineapple, canned without any added sugar.
Amaizin pineapples are grown in Sri Lanka by a cooperation of small-scale organic farmers. We only use a unique, typical variety from Sri Lanka, called Mauritius. This pineapple is much sweeter and more aromatic than the regular pineapple from South America and Africa. This makes it possible to can the pineapple in its own juice, without any added sugar. Due to the long and thin shape of the Mauritius pineapple, it can only be processed manually, this is exactly the reason why you won’t see this kind of pineapple in conventional pineapple products. This need for manual processing creates work and income for the women in the local villages. BPA free packaging.
