Apple flour is the result of grinding the freshest fruit into100% natural powder, while preserving the same original taste and freshness. Since the water is removed, all the mineral and vitamin content gets concentrated, resulting in a very nutrient dense product. Apple flour is a significant source of soluble fiber, especially pectin. In human digestion, pectin binds to cholesterol in the gastrointestinal tract and slows glucose absorption by trapping carbohydrates. Pectin is thus a soluble dietary fiber, prolonging the sense of fullness after meals. It does not contain gluten.
Use:
For brown bread add 1-3% of apple flour to the main flour the recipe is calling for. For apple pie add 10-25%, for biscuits – substitute 10-15% of the flour you use usually. Add it to smoothies and pastries or sprinkle it on fresh fruits/salads to enhance the colour, flavour and to add nutritional value.
